Duration: 5 Days
Cost: £1185 + Vat
Course Objectives:
The Subsea Mechanical Rigging and Lifting Course is a training and competence assessment process externally audited by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) as part of our unique construction diver awards scheme. SQA is an internationally recognised and UK Government approved accreditation body. The course teaches essential safe working techniques for use during load handling operations in the subsea environment, with the aim of making divers more effective and safety aware during these operations.
Course Content:
A day of classroom theory is then followed by a further day of dry practical training using the wide variety of rigging appliances that are used routinely by divers on the jobsite. In-water training commences on day three, with two days spent carrying out various slinging, load handling and assembly techniques, in the PDA's dedicated indoor training tank. The final day is for assessment purposes only and delegates are required to complete a complex assembly/disassembly programme whilst using the safe working procedures taught earlier on the course. Delegates who demonstrate theoretical knowledge through examination and practical ability through assessment, will receive our certificate of competence which is valid for three (3) years.
Certificates can be renewed prior to expiry, by undertaking a two (2) day refresher course.
