This course is also approval by IMarEST (Institute of Marine Engineering Science and Technology) through their CPD committee. Mr D. Keats of Speciality Welds, the author, is also the companies approved welding surveyor (Zurich Insurance) and is their official witness for all welder testing (coding). Mr D. Keats, who is a senior welding inspector and approved competent person, as identified under ISO 14731 has been involved with certifying welders for over 20 years. “The qualification testing of welders is a serious business and it is essential that this is conducted by a recognised competent/approved person, so that any qualifications awarded are internationally recognised by industry”.
